The Lake Tekapo camp grounds offers a great base for enjoying the plethora of activities the Tekapo area has to offer.
Guided walks are popular among guests of the Lake Tekapo camp grounds. With a large variety of durations and levels of difficulty through some stunning landscapes, it is no wonder. The large open spaces also offer many possibilities for mountain biking and cater for those after anything from a couple of hours through to a multi-day adventure.
Just three kilometres from the Lake Tekapo camp grounds and at 750 meters above sea level, the Lake Tekapo golf course is the highest recorded course in the southern hemisphere. With only nine holes, many rabbits, tussock and rabbit holes, it is reportedly a fun high country style golf course.
